Holy Crap!!

Can you believe this woman gave birth to her 16th child yesterday? All 16 children have names that start with the letter J? And if you can believe it, she wants more. I just have one question....why?

Awareness Wednesday

I asked my co-workers, Dana and Alisha, to wear all of the Awareness bracelets they owned. I thought it would be funny to see the 3 of us running around work with all these bracelets stacked on out wrists. It was entertaining. I was asked multiple times what they all stood for. Wait 10 Minutes.....

Anyone who has ever lived in Colorado knows how the weather can change very quickly! The saying goes....

It was 82 degrees and sunny on Saturday

32 degrees and snowy on Sunday night!

It's still freaking snowing....check it out!

Stupid heavy wet snow.....it makes the trees break, my apartment is an icebox and everything is slushy.

5 Things I Love About Fall......

1. 1. Anything Pumpkin! I love love love pumpkin ice cream. Last year after a movie, Ali and I went to Cold Stone Creamery to get some of their infamous ice cream. We had the Pumpkin Pie in the Sky which is pumpkin ice cream with graham cracker pie crust, caramel and whipped topping! Damn it was ridiculous. And the really good news is it starts today and runs thru November 30th....YEAH!! Oh, pie is awesome too and pumpkin seeds. I love to carve pumpkins too. I am such a pumpkin nerd.
2. 2. Fall TV Schedule - but its a close second to pumpkin.
3. 3. 65 Degree Weather - so that means sweaters and down comforters. I love that it's the perfect temperature all day and cool at night. Curled up under the blanket eating pumpkin ice cream.
4. 4. Thanksgiving - 'nuff said. All the pumpkin pie I can eat.
5. 5. Hockey - Go Avs.

No Blood For You!

Bonfils called me to give a blood donation this month. I was excited when they called because I haven't been able to give as much as I want to. I think I was able to give twice in the last 4 years. 4 years? right, it sounds ridiculous. I had Mono and had to wait a year after that. Then I think I got to make one donation. Then I got a tattoo 4 years ago, so that was a year I had to wait. Then I had finger surgery and had to wait until I healed and off the meds from that. Then when I took my yearly TB test for work and it came back positive, I took 12 weeks of meds and then had to wait another year. Finally, I got to give one more time after all that. YEAH!! So when they called I was ready to give until I remembered I was on anti-biotics for my freakin' sinus infection, so I have to wait 2 days after my last pill. So I scheduled an appointment in 3 weeks. All is good, right? nope. I was answering all her basic questions and how could I forget.....I got 2 more tattoos in April. Damn, I cant give for another 7 months. Sorry Bonfils No Blood For You!

Earthquakes In Colorado

Huh?...I didn't know this happened so frequently in Colorado. Last night there was a earthquake measuring 4.1, just outside of Steamboat Springs. (the big blue square on the map and don't be alarmed its 103 miles from Denver) And, last week there was one just outside of Trinidad that measured 2.6 (the small yellow square.)

Apparently there have been over 500 earthquakes / tremors since 1867, ranging from 2.5 - 5.3!
I know you're thinking, its Colorado, and there are mountains, and the fault lines shift and make mountains, and there should be earthquakes, right? I was born here, and we just don't get quakes here large enough to feel. According to the Colorado Geological survey there are 90 potentially active faults in Colorado. Small in comparison to the hundreds of faults in California, (including electing the governator, but that's another post,) but they are capable of producing earthquakes from 6.5 to 7.3 magnitude. Did you know that? I don't remember learning that in school.
