As Promised

My costume turned out awesome, if I can say so myself.

Ali looks bitchin' in her 80's rock get up. The tights are awesome!

Julio makes a good convict!

Nicolle's costume is so damn hilarious. Remember Teddy Ruxpin? He was that crazy toy bear that played tapes in his back and his mouth would move to whatever was on the tape.

Kevin showed up....you all remember Kevin from Cave of the Winds right?

Are You Clumsy?

1. Have you ever been to the emergency room? duh, I fall down ALL the time. I was just there in July.

2. Have you ever fallen on your face in the lobby of The Plaza Hotel in NYC? Oh, yeah, I so did. ( I added this one for fun, I'm sure I am the only person who has actually done this, ever!)

3. What's the worst pain you've ever had? head and abdomen pain when I had mono.

4. Have you ever broken a bone? ok, again duh. 14 to be exact.

5. If you could choose your doctor, do you prefer someone of the same or opposite sex? same, and I don't know why.

6. Would you prefer to go to the doctor or go sky diving? sky diving I think, I haven't tried it yet, but doctors suck! (and I work with them all day)

I'm only tagging one person...ha ha Duane. You're it!!

LOST Wednesday

Matthew and his parents lived in Wyoming, they raised longhorn cattle, horses and grew barley for Coors beer. (I love Coors!) He first entered the Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and then transferred to Columbia University where he played football and majored in Economics with an intent to end up on Wall Street. However, his girl friend's mother was a modeling agent who convinced him to try some modeling which led to a couple of TV commercials. Soon he appeared on the TV series 'Wings' and had a supporting role in the motion picture 'My Boyfriend's Back.' He first got noticed when he starred in the Fox drama 'Party of Five.' Up next he toplined the short-lived supernatural cop show 'Haunted.' Of course you can see him Wednesday's on LOST. Interesting piece of trivia: he is good friends with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong.

For Shits and Giggles

I found this when I was searching for all the Halloween pictures I posted a couple of days ago. I couldn't resist posting it. I swear I was cool in 1981. I loved this outfit so much that there is a "series" of pictures with me posing in it. Check out the side ponytail.

Let's Talk Boys...AGAIN!

I have decided boys are freakin stupid. Tonight Ali and I went to the bar, again. I was talking to a guy I work with and some guy walked up and said hello. I recognized him and said hello back. After a while I felt bad because I couldn't figure out where I knew this guy from. I walked over and apologized for not knowing where I knew him from and he says high school. Great, I just talked about this with Duane, and I hate running into people I went to high school with, it's just awkward. So anyway, I am talking to him a little and he says, "Do you remember my twin brother?" I of course say no and graciously say hello to him and walk off. A little while later the (cute) twin brother comes over to talk to me. I talk back for a while and then he walks away. I talk to Ali about it and she says "he's cute, make sure he knows you're interested." I walk back over to him and start small talk and the conversation seems to be going well. Then, just when it's getting to a normal pace, his brother walks up and decides its time for them to go. wtf? The (cute) twin walks away without my number and I am now pissed that I made the effort to go over there. This is why boys are stupid. If a girl walks across a bar to talk to you, she's interested. Damn, it's not that hard.

Let's Talk Boys (aka Stupid Men)

Sorry it's wordy, but really funny.
Last night Ali and I went to the bar, shocking I know. We hang out in the same bar most of the time because it's close to home and they have $5 pitchers. Anyway, I would have to say last night was the most ridiculous night in regards to men.
Here's how it went....The first guy to walk up to our table asked us if the band sounded like mariachi music. Which they clearly didn't, they were a rock band. Nice pick-up line huh? He then wanted to buy us drinks, we politely said no, and then he said "how about conversation then?" I said "we are already having a conversation so no thanks." He walked off. Yeah!!
The second guy (who is the friend of the first guy) to come over to the table sat himself down and asked right out if he could have some of our quesadilla. wtf? Ali and I had been drinking for a while at this point, so I said to him, "Are you seriously trying to mooch food off of us?" He says yes and just sits there. He asks Ali if we come here often, she says "No, its our first time." He then says he goes there pretty often to play poker. (they have free Texas Hold'em in the dart room every Saturday night) Ali looks him dead in the face and says, "So if you're out here you lost?" He didn't like that. Ali and I finish our food and there was one piece of quesadilla left, he asks if we are done, and then dives into it. Who eats someone else's food? Especially a stranger. Ali sees a guy we know and runs to get him, he is carrying a drink called an "Adios Mutherfucker." It's a real drink, it's blue. Luckily the weird quesadilla guy gets the hint and walks off. This is bizarre right? Oh, there's more.
The third guy to come to the table was the drunk ass from behind me that kept bumping/leaning into me. Normally I don't get upset if you just bump into me, but he was leaning on me, like I was a freaking pole. He gets into a conversation with Ali. I can't hear their conversation because the band is so loud. But I can see that he keeps leaning into Ali and she keeps leaning away. I run off and find our friend that saved us from the quesadilla guy and after he comes to the table the weird drunk guy walks away.
We've been going to this bar fairly regularly for over a year and never have we had a night like this.

My Life in Costume

Halloween 2005 Update: I painted my shoes for this years costume. The only thing left is the white triangle for my neck. I have the supplies, I just need to do it. I promise pictures next weekend.

I look like such a sad clown.

What's with the plastic mask and plastic apron costume? Who thought this was a good idea? The only good thing about it....I was Strawberry Shortcake. I loved her. ps those are my cousins

Yeah, another plastic mask. Witches were big in my household. (so much so I was a witch twice) My mom used to dress up in this very authentic looking costume complete with fake nose and then she would paint her entire face green. She scared a few kids to death. It was awesome.

My green paint was nothing to brag about.

Oh, you know it was the 80's when I thought this was a good costume.

I remember this costume well. My parents must have spent a fortune on it, and its so not that great. A french maid. whoopee.

This was two years ago. Barefoot and Pregnant.

Last year my costume was boring, I rented a queen costume. The other girls had much better costumes. Ali was a beer wench. Julio was Julio. (see this post for an explination) and Nicolle was a pregnant nun. She reused the belly from the my costume the year before. Nice!

Turn Your Head

I have had a couple of people ask me about Turn Your Head. It's a Colorado Springs company that will take a profile of your face and turn it into a piece of art. They even let you choose the type of wood you want too. I think it's a really cool idea!

Aaaahhhh.....Success!!

Finally, the ice cream I love more than anything has touched my lips. So instead of going for a regular dinner with my mom tonight, we had ice cream. Does it get any better than that? Then....My mom bought me a bucket of pumpkin ice cream to take home. I'm gonna be so happy for days.

Coming Together Nicely

Good News everyone....my Halloween costume is done. (for the most part) We converted my old bridesmaids dress to look just like Jane Jetson's dress. Doesn't it look like I was actually doing something in that picture? The truth is my mom did all the work. I can't even sew a straight line....with the sewing machine!! Seriously.
All I need to do is make the white triangle for my neck and paint my shoes purple. My tights are the perfect color and thanks to Ali for going with me to shop for them on Saturday.
And what you have all been waiting for.....
The bottom of the skirt stays out like a hoop when it's on and
I promise there will be pictures of me in it from the 29th.

The Search.....

Let me just start by saying my mom is the coolest. She spent all of her Sunday afternoon making my Halloween costume. Yeah, I can't sew...at all. I sorta bribed her by telling her I would buy her pumpkin ice cream. As all of you remember from this post, it was supposed to be available at Cold Stone Creamery starting October 8th. So we take a break and head over to buy some. They don't have any? wtf? They said they wouldn't have it until November. I explain that the website says October. The snippy girl at the counter could give a rats ass. So, my mom is pissed. So we swing thru McDonalds and get crappy McFlurry's. It's so not even close to what we wanted. Then it happened. My mom snaps and we drive around for 20 minutes looking for a Baskin Robbins. We can't find one, because there are apparently 3 left in Colorado, who knew. So this morning I check the Cold Stone Creamery website and yes in deed it says October 8th. I then realize it says they are franchises. So I call the other Cold Stone Creamery locations around me and oh yes, they all have it. wtf? I'm so going to get some this afternoon.
