It was 77 degrees in Denver today....Which is CRAZY!

(and a new record high) And speaking of crazy, on my way home today I saw a woman jogging in the park in a bikini. That's right folks, a bikini. I wore flip flops today, I understand how warm it was, but a bikini? Come on! Only in Colorado will you see guys in shorts in mid December and a woman running in a bikini in February.

Monday Nonsense

I'm sure most of you noticed I changed the style of my blog, I was getting sick of the other one. Hopefully you all enjoy it, and if you don't....No worries, it will change again at some point.

I can't tell you how excited I am that the Olympics are O-V-E-R. My DVR has been empty for days. I watched all my shows as slow as possible and still ran out of stuff to watch. The funny thing is I don't watch NBC all that often, but all the other stations insist on showing crap while the Olympics are on. So good riddance.

I just watched 'Sense and Sensibility' for the 10th time. I think I've seen 'Emma,' 'An Ideal Husband' and 'Little Women' at least 5 or 6 times each. I think I should have lived in that time. I made Ali go see 'Vanity Fair' with me when it came out in the theater, and I know she will never let me live it down, it was awful, but it was still 'period' enough for me to enjoy it a little.

Malicious Garment

So I've been wearing a bra for something like 18 or 19 years...Which sorta grosses me out to say. Anyway, I've never actually been hurt by one, I mean really hurt, like blood and everything. Yeah they dig into my skin and I will forever have the Napa Valley in my shoulders, but yesterday the underwire snapped, popped through the fabric and poked me in the ribs. Do you have any idea how painful that is?

And since I'm bitching, the pretty bras like the one here rarely come in sizes larger than a C, so if you have small boobs and want them to look bigger, you're in luck. If you have bigger boobs and just want them to look pretty, you either cant find one or it costs somewhere between $50 & $60. WTF??

McDreamy Vs McSteamy

Megan and I have been talking about Greys Anatomy at work for the last 3 days now. Hellloooo McSteamy!! Thank you to the show writers for adding another good looking man to the show. I was perfectly happy with McDreamy.

Since we work in a hospital, with lots of doctors, we decided to name our own McDreamy and McSteamy doctors.
(of course can't tell you because people at work read this blog)
Too bad none of the doctors we work with are this hot and/or single.

Trading One Obsession for Another

Anyone who knows me is aware of my obsession with Fruit Roll-ups. It's sorta ridiculous, I must have them and I have a stash at all times.

So, when Alisha brought Nerds rope to work today I was reminded of the time when I was obsessed with them. (Like buying a box of 24 at Costco and freaking out when I was out) That was like 4 years ago and oh, how I missed them. (I've had 2 today) What's not to love, gooey center, nerds all around, awesome.

I will officially make the switch back to Nerds Rope when I run out of Fruit Roll-ups. Goodbye trusty Fruit Roll-ups, I'll miss you.

Gemstone Lesson - Ametrine

Amethyst and Citrine can be found in nature in one piece of quartz, called ametrine. The major world supplier of ametrine is the Anahi mine in Bolivia. It became famous in the 17th century when it was given as dowry to a conquistador upon marriage. It was then introduced to Europe through the conquistador's gifts to the Spanish queen. It is typically cut rectangular to show the color split, but can be cut to blend colors through the stone.

I had to tell you all a little about the stone because I got my birthday present today...don't worry my birthday isn't for another 66 days...and it's gorgeous. It's a 4 carat ametrine set in white gold with scroll work on the sides. I so heart it.
