Blog to Blog
So I think you would all be astonished if you knew how much time I wasted on the internet. But by far my favorite thing to do is click on that little button in the upper right hand corner that says "NEXT BLOG>>" Yup, I can do that for hours. Anyway, it takes you to someone else's blog. The best part is when you find people who just seconds before have posted something creative like "test" or "this is my first post." Who knew that would be exciting at 6:45pm on a friday? I knew. Sometimes I leave comments because I remember when my blog was new and nobody would leave a comment...that sucked.

HNT Series
I was talked into doing one more HNT post and so I decided to post a series. All I can say is...don't leave me alone with a camera.

It's a Struggle....But Worth It
So there are a few of you who don't know that I have been working on my family tree for about 6 years. Off and on for 6 years, not like daily for 6 years. But damn the internet it makes things so much easier. When I first started I had to go to the National Archives to search roll after roll of microfiche and it took hours and hours to find one census record. Now you pay a little fee for online access and they pretty much do the whole search for you. Yeah! Technology. I have also found distant cousins who are researching as well so we get to share info. Anyway, its really interesting and I would recommend you do it...If it interests you and if it doesn't...Ask someone else in your family to do it.
BTW...The picture is of the Hartley's circa 1912. The man in the middle and older lady on the right are my great-great grandparents with their 8 children. (lower left in the all white dress is my great grandmother)

Do You Ever Wonder...
Why people make the decisions they make, especially when they effect other people?
Why people still make the wrong decision even after you give them the right one?
Why people are afraid of other peoples thoughts & feelings?
Why people can't seem to follow their own rules?
Why people are stupid about relationships?
Why people can't communicate?
I do

HNT #6 **Updated**
I know this week is a bit of a let down considering the picture last week, but this is the last HNT for a while.
I present my right hand...wow, huh? Yes my finger is crooked and it always will be. I had surgery on it 3 years ago after I jammed it into a metal divider (at work) and severed the tendon on the top of my finger. The surgery sucked and so does the scar.
The scab on the top of my hand is because I stabbed myself with my own finger nail yesterday.
Nice huh?
Happy Half Nekkid Thursday!
**So I just looked at this picture...I mean really looked at it. And my hand looks webbed. I swear the skin between my thumb and hand doesn't really look like that. Ugh!

Unfortunately, you often spark jealousy - and unintentionally start bar fights. |

The Streak Is Over
Hey everyone guess what?....I fell tonight. Yep, slipped on ice walking to my apartment. We all knew it would happen (again) sooner or later. I have a bloody knee, my hand is scraped up and my neck is killing me, but eh, it's not the first time, so i'm sure I'll be ok.

Prison Break Returns....It's About Damn Time
I can't believe it's been 16 weeks since the last episode of Prison Break. I'm so ready for tonight's new episode.
If you missed the first 13 episodes I would recommend reading the recaps and watching the new episode tonight 7pm on FOX.
(and a friend told me this weekend that I watch entirely too much tv....well duh!)

At Least My Shoulders Feel Better
Happy St Patricks Day! Let me start by saying I'm really sad!! My mom, Brenda, Ali and I were partying in NYC last St Patricks Day. I wish we were there. Really Really Drunk!
(Instead Ali and I are stuck at work all damn day, and my mom and Brenda left work early to go drink beer! So not fucking fair!)
The good news is...I got a massage this morning....at work. How cool is that? One of the benefits of working in the health care industry is they occasionally provide free massages for employees. I sure did take advantage of that at 8am this morning. Sorry, but work can wait. The really cute guy who massaged my neck/shoulders for 30 minutes made it really hard to relax. Damn cute massage therapists! A little side note: He did a fantastic job and my massage should have only been 10-15 minutes, so Happy St Pat's to ME!!

I Think I'm Qualified
If you're a true beer lover....Check out RateBeer.com
I was surprised to find that the 'Chimay' is listed as the third best beer in the 'widely distributed beers' category. Ugh, it was literally the worst beer I have ever tasted. Ali & I did the World Beer Tour at Old Chicago (twice technically, but once legitimately) and our friend Todd bought us each a Chimay as the last beer on our first tour. Let me give you a quick rundown - #1...its huge, like 3 beers worth in one bottle #2...It's 9% alcohol #3...It's a little too pricey & #4...it tastes like liquid dirt. I choked it down because Todd spent the money for it, but I don't recommend it unless someone double dog dares you or it's worth points on a scavenger hunt.

Hair Today...Gone Tomorrow
(I know, the title is so cheesy it hurts) Anyway, it's hair day...I can't wait to get it done. I should have cut & colored my hair 2 months ago. (I just went back into the blog archives and realized I haven't cut my hair since October 28th? Holy shit....No wonder it looks like it does) The weird part is that I didn't even have an appointment for today. There are about 6 people who see the same hair lady that I do... so when I went to talked to Megan (my co-worker) about making an appointment she mentioned that she had an appointment for tonight and she didn't feel up to going, so I get to take her place. I'll let you know how it goes.

Finally...
the Republicans are starting to realize what the Democrats have known all this time...Bush is an idiot!
(& he has no idea what he's doing)
"More and more people, particularly Republicans, disapprove of President Bush's performance, question his character and no longer consider him a strong leader against terrorism, according to an AP-Ipsos poll documenting one of the bleakest points of his presidency." "Far fewer Americans consider Bush likeable, honest, strong and dependable than they did just after his re-election campaign."
"Bush's job approval among Republicans plummeted from 82 percent in February to 74 percent, a dangerous sign in a midterm election year when parties rely on enthusiasm from their most loyal voters. The biggest losses were among white males." "The poll suggests that most Americans wonder whether Bush is up to the job. The survey, conducted Monday through Wednesday of 1,000 people, found that just 37 percent approve of his overall performance. That is the lowest of his presidency."
"Nearly four out of five Americans, including 70 percent of Republicans, believe civil war will break out in Iraq, the bloody hot spot upon which Bush has staked his presidency. Nearly 70 percent of people say the U.S. is on the wrong track, a 6-point jump since February." - Associated Press writer Will Lester and AP Manager of News Surveys Trevor Tompson contributed to this report.

The Lunch of Champions
I had a Cup O' Noodle, Corn Nuts, Necco wafers and a Coke for lunch. Mmmm, I don't even want to know the nutritional value of all that. I didn't even get to eat all the Necco wafers either. I hate the pepto bismol pink, black licorice and the chocolate ones. They're just wrong! (and because my lunch didn't consist of enough sugar, my afternoon snack was a piece of cherry pie) Awesome!

Pride & Prejudice
I'm running out the door to meet my 'friend' John for drinks...But I wanted to tell you that if you haven't seen 'Pride & Prejudice,' (and can actually stand that kind of movie) you need to drive yourself to the store and rent it. It is so good...Oh yeah, I've watched it 4 times since Tuesday. Happy Friday!
