Matthew and his parents lived in Wyoming, they raised longhorn cattle, horses and grew barley for Coors beer. (I love Coors!) He first entered the Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and then transferred to Columbia University where he played football and majored in Economics with an intent to end up on Wall Street. However, his girl friend's mother was a modeling agent who convinced him to try some modeling which led to a couple of TV commercials. Soon he appeared on the TV series 'Wings' and had a supporting role in the motion picture 'My Boyfriend's Back.' He first got noticed when he starred in the Fox drama 'Party of Five.' Up next he toplined the short-lived supernatural cop show 'Haunted.' Of course you can see him Wednesday's on LOST. Interesting piece of trivia: he is good friends with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong.(thanks to IMBd for the bio)
